Multigrain dosa:


Ingredients Needed:

Rice-1 cup ( i used normal cooking rice)

Green gram dal/pacha pataru - 1/2 cup

Masoor dal/red lentil- 1/2 cup

Toor dal/ Tuvaram paruppu - 1/2 cup

Urad dal/ Ulundu - 1/2 cup

Fenu-greek seeds -2 tsp

Cumin seeds -2 tsp

Sugar-2 tsp

Onion- 1 large

green chilli - 5 

Ginger -2 inch piece

Curry leaves a handful

Chilli powder-2 tbl spn or to taste

Asafoetida /hing /kaya podi- 1/2  tsp

Salt to taste

Oil for making dosa

How To Make:

Wash and soak all the dals with fenu-greek in water for 2 hours.

Grind them with cumln, asafoetida and green chilies to a fluffy batter, using the water in which they were soaked.

Combine all the flours together.

Beat the curds till smooth and stir in sugar and salt.

Add the curds to the mixed flours.

Add enough water to make smooth, thick butter.

Mix this batter with dal batter.

Add more water to get a consistency like usual dosa batter.

Keep covered for 4-6 hours.

Make thin dosas on hot tawa, cooking both sides with little oil.

Serve hot with chutney.
