Ragi java:


Ingredients Needed:

Ragi Flour / Finger Millet Flour - 1/2 cup

Water - 2 cups

Previously Boiled Milk - 1.5 Cup

Sugar / Palm Sugar / Jagger - as needed

Cardamom Powder / Yelakai - 1/2 tsp

Almonds / Cashews / Pista - as needed

For Sweet Malt:

4 tbsp.(1/4 cup)  Ragi f;our / finger millet flour

1 1/2 tbsp. sugar or Jagger or any other sweetener (optional)

1 cup Water 

Milk as needed

Few drops of ghee (Optional, if making for babies  do use, it helps to helps to swallow the porridge easily)

Pinch of cardamom powder (Optional)

Nuts as desired (optional)

Ingredients for salted java or porridga:

4 tbsp. (1/4 cup) Ragi flour / finger millet

Salt to taste

1 cup Water

Buttermilk as needed

Seasoning (avoid if making for babies)

Oil or ghee

Cummin

Curry leaves 

Coriander leaves few chopped finally

Green chilli if desired

How To Make:

Add 4 cups of water in a SS vessel and place it over flame.

Dissolve ragi powder in 1/2 cup of water, mix well to avoid lumps.

When the water boils , reduce flame add ragi mix into boiling water.

Keep on stirring till the preparation becomes thick, Add salt to it.

Note:

The mix will get burnt at the bottom of vessel if high flame is maintained.

Take off flame and leave it to cool. 

Add butter milk and mix well.

Ragi java is ready to drink. serve into glasses and ensure they drink it.

Nourishing drink during hot summers. Consume ragi java and then plan a day out, you will not feel tired with the scorch heat.

How To Make (Sweet Variety):

Add 4 cups water in a SS vessel and place it over flame.

Dissolve ragi powder in 1/4 cup of water, mix well to avoid lumps.

When the water boils , reduce flame add ragi mix into boiling water.

Add 2 cups of milk and 4 tbsp of sugar, maintain medium flame.

Keep on stirring till the preparation becomes semi thick.

Note:

The mix will get burnt at the bottom of vessel if high flame is maintained and not strred continuously.

Take off flame and leave it to cool. 

Refrigerate for 15 mins (optional)

Ragi Java Sweet variety is ready to drink. Serve into glasses.

A supervise for your kids this summer.

You can add flavors to it by adding sliced mango, blended mango or any other fruit.

You can use any sweetener as per your choice.

You can add powdered nuts or chopped nuts as you like.

You have to keep mixing this when heating or you will get lumos.

You can add low fat milk too.
