Royyala iguru (Easy Andhra Prawns Curry)
Royyala iguru (Easy Andhra Prawns Curry):
A simple, hot and spicy Andhra prawns curry.
Ingredients Needed:
250 grams of prawns / royyalu
2 medium sized onions chopped finely
1 sprig curry leaves
1 green chill slit or chopped
1/4 tsp cumin / jeera
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp. ginger garlic paste, = 1/2 tsp. for marination
1/4 tsp red chill powder, =1/4 tsp. for marination
1 tbsp. Lemon juice (adjust to suit your taste)
1 tsp. garam masala powder
Coriander leaves few for garnishing
1 1/2 tbsp. Oil (adjust to suit your taste)
How To Make:
Clean and De-vein the prawns. In a bowl take prawns add 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp Turmeric powder add half tbsp Ginger garlic Paste. Cover and keep aside
Using mortar and pestle or any crusher roughly pound or crunch cinnamon and cloves.
In a skillet or kadhai heat oil. Add cinnamon and cloves, when spluttering stops add curry leaves, onions and slit green chilies. Let it cook for a minute, add ginger garlic paste saute and let it cook till slightly brown
Add the tomatoes, red chili powder and saute for a few more minutes until oil separates
Add the marinated prawns, Mix well, cover and cook on medium heat for about 1 minute.
Add 1 cup of water, let it cook for 15 minutes until the Masala thickens. Add salt
Finally add garam masala powder and stir for a few seconds more.
Remove from heat garnish with chopped coriander leaves add serve hot with rice.
